WEDDINGS

First of all, congratulations! We would be delighted to support you as you make plans to embark on this exciting journey together!

There are some legal requirements that need to be met, so the best place to start is having a look at the Church of England weddings website.  It contains lots of helpful information about getting married in church: www.yourchurchwedding.org

If you do meet the qualifying connections listed on the above website, or you just simply want to find out more, then please get in touch with the church office.

FUNERALS

Arranging a funeral for a loved one can be a stressful process during what is already a difficult time. We understand that you will want to arrange things as quickly as possible. It is always best to make full use of the funeral director and have them contact us to establish availability of the building and clergy, as they will need to co-ordinate this will their own availability and that of the crematorium or burial ground.

Please note that the church office is only open on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday mornings. At other times please leave a message on the office phone (0117 325 8720) and someone will get back to you as soon as possible.

The family will always have the opportunity to meet with the member of clergy who is taking the funeral. They will talk through, not just the practical arrangements, but also any sadness, grief, pain or reflections you may wish to share - as much or as little as you wish, with no pressure or expectation.

The Church of England has created a website that can help you through this difficult time (churchofenglandfunerals.org).

BAPTISMS

We would love to help you explore the options for celebrating the arrival of your child.

If you don't currently attend St Andrew's or St Peter's churches, please do come along to one of our services on a Sunday morning (more information about the services can be found here) to meet one of the team.

It's worth contacting the church office to let us know you're coming, so we can look out for you on the day (contact form).

Baptisms take place within our Sunday morning services, so it's really important that you come along, meet the church family, and spend

time reflecting on the significant promises we make when baptising a child.

You can pick up a 'Celebrating the Gift of a Child' registration form from the church office, or download one here.  Do fill it in and drop it off at the office, or bring it along to church when you come to our Sunday services.  Once we've got your form, we will be in touch to talk in more detail about your plans and help you prepare for this very special event.

In the mean time, if you would like to find out more about baptisms/christenings then do have a look at the Church of England website (churchofenglandchristenings.org) which has lots of helpful advice and information. Feel free to contact us with any questions and, better still, come along and meet us.  You're sure of a warm welcome!
